Shanyn Stewart, CFEd, EA

Shanyn Stewart began her career with General Electric as one of two accountant/advisors that worked directly with GE employees and executives to mitigate taxation throughout the county.  She has worked with 28 of the different GE business presidents since that time.  In 1996 she started Advanced Accounting to assist clients apply those principles she learned at GE to assist in reducing their tax liability.

In addition to her Life, Health and Variable Contracts, Shanyn holds Series 6, Series 7, Series 63 and 65 licenses.  Shanyn holds an Associates in Accounting, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Development and Accounting, and a Master’s in Forensic Accounting.   She is a Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Acceptance Agent with the IRS.  In 2008 Shanyn was accepted into the non-profit Heartland Institute of Financial Education as a Certified Financial Educator.   In May 2017 Shanyn received her designation as a Certified Tax Master.   This designation is for CPA’s and EA’s (Enrolled Agents) and is held by those that demonstrate the highest understanding of tax planning strategies.

Shanyn is the author of, “The 10 Most Expensive Tax Mistakes That Cost Business Owners Thousands” and her personal journey titled, “Forty Days and Forty Nights” will be published in 2018.  Her book co-authored with Amani Ahmed, CPA entitled: “How to Easily Run a Tax Practice in No Time” will be published March 2018.

 

John Burke, CPA

John Burke is a Certified Public Accountant with over 40 years of experience.  John specializes in working with Real Estate professionals.  John’s forte includes handling the firms tax resolution issues and he has successfully navigated countless clients through the resolution process.  John actively coaches the firms business clients in reducing cost and increasing their profitability and is active in a tax planning role as a project manager.

 

Jaime Seale, CPA, CGMA

Jaime Seale is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).  In addition, Jaime holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in accounting and information management.  She is committed to a holistic approach to educate and empower others to attain their personal, business and financial goals.   Jaime works with small to mid-size companies as a project manager to navigate them through the proactive tax planning process.

 

Carrie Kiser, EA, CTC, NTPI Fellow

Carrie Kiser is an Enrolled Agent, Certified Tax Coach and NTPI Fellow.  Carrie is a Quickbooks Proadvisor and heads up the firms bookkeeping and payroll department as project manager.  Carrie is an expert in swooping in and cleaning up bookkeeping messes and getting clients back on track so that they know what theirs financials actually are.

 

Amani Ahmed, CPA, MST

Amani Ahmed has over 13 years’ experience in management, tax, and accounting.  She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and worked for Reznick Group, a top 10 national public accounting firm in the country, as its Senior Tax Consultant for 7 years.  Her time at Reznick Group helped hone her accounting and management skills as part of her responsibilities including being a tax advisor to Resnick’s high net worth clients.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Bowie State University and a Master’s Degree in Science and Taxation from the American University.   In 2017, Shanyn Stewart and Amani Ahmed will be launching the Tax Practice Academy that offers advanced tax planning training to other tax professionals.

 

Illyce Lockrey – Payroll Specialist

Illyce Lockrey is a staff accountant and tax preparer.  She handles the payroll service needs of the clients at Advanced Accounting.  Before coming to Advanced Accounting, she was employed by the Lazy Boy Corporation as a staff accountant.  Illyce has a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Master’s in Accounting from Lourdes University.

 

Kevin Olander – Staff Accountant

Kevin Olander is a staff accountant and handles the implementation process for tax planning clients.  Before coming to Advanced Accounting Kevin was employed by Fifth Third Bank for 15 years.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is currently preparing to sit for his CPA exam in 2017.

 

Ed Lloyd, CPA, PFS, CTC – Captive Management

Ed Lloyd assists clients in the formation and management of closely held insurance companies.  He completes the construction, implementation, and tax preparation of Captives for clients.

 

 Joseph Harmon – College Planning Specialist

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Joe’s financial career started at The Northern Trust Company in 2006.  He went on to become technical coordinator of the team responsible for the daily valuation of multi-national pension funds.  In 2011, with Joe’s aspiration to help individuals and families achieve their own meaningful definition of financial success, he joined a major Wall Street firm as a financial advisor.  Joe handles all college planning needs for the clients at Advanced Accounting.

 

Matthew Golba, AAMS

Matthew received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University.  He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.  He is committed to providing clients with an honest, open approach to investments and financial planning.

 

Harrison Kennard, CFP

Harrison Kennard, is a Certified Financial Planner with over 12 years of financial planning experience.  He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 license and along with the team at Advanced Accounting provides a holistic approach to financial planning.
